Wren Halloway
A creative professional gets hired on taste, and a portfolio is the first taste anyone gets. Templates flatten that — every photographer's site ends up looking like every other photographer's site. This demo is designed like a printed monograph instead: expressive typography, a restrained ink-and-bone palette with one vermilion accent, and layouts that let the work breathe — so the site itself reads as evidence of the artist's eye before a single image is clicked.
Wren Halloway is a fictional creative professional we invented for this demonstration — not a client. The website is real and fully working; the artist, the work, and the story are illustrative.

The scenario this demo explores
A common situation for a working photographer & visual artist — imagined for this fictional project — and how the design is built to answer it.
The work lived on an Instagram grid and a template portfolio that looked like everyone else's — galleries buried the strongest images, and print or commission inquiries arrived as scattered DMs, if they arrived at all.
The site presents the work the way a gallery would — sequenced series, generous space, typography with a point of view — and ends every path at a clear way to buy a print, book a commission, or license an image.
The details that turn visitors into customers
- Editorial, magazine-style design with expressive display typography
- Selected-series index with cursor-following image previews
- Horizontal drag-through gallery built for photography's aspect ratios
- About page structured as an artist statement, not a résumé
- Prints, commissions, and licensing offers with clear starting prices
Your work, presented like this
Every portfolio we build is designed around the work itself: custom typography and layout with a real point of view, fast loading, and a clear path from admiring to buying or booking. Swap in your name, your images, your series — and this is how your work could be seen.
Portfolio sites like this one typically fall under our Bronze package.
