Useful objects,
made slowly.
Wheel-thrown stoneware shaped by working harbors, tide lines, and the quiet evidence of the hand.

Studio statement
“The best object is never finished by looking. It asks for a hand, a table, a room, and time.”
I make quiet, useful ceramics that hold onto their materials: coarse local clay, ash from windfall alder, iron washed downriver. Finger marks stay. Glaze breaks at the rim. Repetition is allowed to remain imperfect.

- 01
Find the material
Clay bodies begin with a job: restaurant service, daily use, or a form that only needs to hold space. Local stoneware is blended for tooth, strength, and color.
- 02
Leave the hand in it
Every piece is thrown or built in short runs. Rims are compressed, feet are trimmed, and the small variations that prove a person made it are kept.
- 03
Let the kiln answer
Ash, iron, salt, and flame finish the surface. The result is edited hard: only objects with the right weight and presence leave the studio.
